Since we have various systems of social insurances which are non-integrated, it is possible for a worker to receive benefits under a workers' compensation program as well as Social Security disability benefits under the Social Security Act. In New Jersey, the workers' compensation system is financed exclusively by employers; whereas the Social Security system is financed by both employers and employees.
